Than
প্রধানত Conjunction হিসেবে কাজ করে। যা Except বা when এর মতো অর্থ প্রকাশ করে।
- Example 1: She would rather die than wear high heels.
আবার, Preposition হিসেবেও ব্যবহৃত হয়ে, In relation to, by comparison with এর মতো অর্থ প্রকাশ করে।
- Example 2: Anik is a friend than whom there is none more caring.
idioms হিসেবে ব্যবহৃত হয়ে তুলনামূলক অর্থ প্রকাশ করে।
“easier said than done,” “better late than never”, “more dead than alive.”
Then
মূলত Adverb এর মতো কাজ করে। যা In that case, at that time, in order of time or place, at the same time, soon afterward, in addition, as a consequence এর মতো অর্থ প্রকাশ করে।
- Example 1: Emon told me, “If we are having fun together, then you should take lots of photographs.” There were no digital cameras then!
আবার Adjective বা Noun হিসেবেও অর্থ প্রকাশ করে।
- Adjective - being such, existing, being at that time এবং
- Noun হিসেবে - That time এর মতো অর্থ প্রকাশ করে।
- Example 2: My then-roommate Adib moved out and I have not seen him since then.
Idioms হিসেবে, “on the other hand”, “at that exact time/ place”, “at once” এর মতো অর্থপ্রকাশে ব্যবহৃত হয়ে থাকে।
