Appropriate Preposition:

  • Boast of ( গর্ব করা ) Do not boast of your wealth.
  • Opposite to ( বিপরীত ) Your idea is opposite to mine.
  • Equal to ( সমতুল্য (কাজ) ) He rose equal to the occasion.
  • Partial to ( পক্ষপাত দুষ্ট ) He is partial to his son.
  • Vary from ( আলাদা হওয়া ) His opinion varies from his brother's.
  • Offend against ( লঙ্গন করা ) You have offended against good manners.

Idioms:

  • In no time ( শীঘ্র ) He will finish the work in no time.
  • At dagger drawn ( খড়গহস্ত ) The two brothers are now at daggers drawn.
  • Gift of the gab ( বাককটুতা ) An advocate should have the gift of the gab.
  • End in smoke ( ব্যর্থ হওয়া ) All his plans ended in smoke.
  • Bad blood ( মনোমালিন্য ; শত্রতা ; দ্বেষ ) Now there is bad blood between the two brothers.
