Appropriate Preposition:

  • Wish for ( আকাঙ্খা করা ) I do not wish for name and fame.
  • Argue for ( যূক্তি দেখানো (কোন কিছু) ) I argued with him for the point.
  • Agree on ( একমত হওয়া (নির্দিষ্ট বিষয়) ) I am agree on this point.
  • Provide with ( সরবরাহ করা (কোন জিনিস) ) I provide (supply) him with food.
  • Polite in ( নম্র ) He is polite in his manners. (Polite to strangers).
  • Accustomed to ( অভ্যস্ত ) I am accustomed to such a life.

Idioms:

  • Fish in a troubled water ( এলোমোলো অবস্থায় সুযোগ নেওয়া ) He made a lot of money by fishing in a troubled water.
  • Cats and dogs ( মূষল ধারে ) It was raining cats and dogs.
  • To the letter ( অক্ষরে অক্ষরে ) He followed my advice to the letter.
  • Three R's ( প্রাথমিক শিক্ষা ) The majority of our people have not yet learnt the three R's.
  • By no means ( কোন ভাবেই না ) I shall by no means call on him.
