Appropriate Preposition:

  • Open to ( উন্মুক্ত ) His plan is open to objection.
  • Popular with ( জনপ্রিয় ) He is popular with all for his good behaviour.
  • Quarrel about ( কলহ করা (কোনকিছু) ) They quarreled with one another about the property.
  • Favour with ( অনুগত করা ) Would you favour me with an early reply?
  • Dislike for ( অপছন্দ ) He has dislike for dogs.
  • Due to ( কারণে ) His absence is due to illness.

Idioms:

  • In lieu of ( পরিবর্তে ) Give me this pen in lieu of that.
  • a bad apple ( কোনো একটা দলের সব ভালোর মধ্যে খারাপ বা মন্দটা ) In any group of average citizens there are bound to be a few bad apples.
  • Bring to light ( প্রকাশ করা ) At last all the facts were brought to light.
  • throw dust in ones hands full ( কারো চোখে ধূলো দেওয়া )
  • Achilles heel ( দুর্বলতা বা ত্রুটি ) He is trying to hide but everybody knows his achilles' heel
