Appropriate Preposition:

  • Take after ( সদৃশ হওয়া ) The boy takes after his father.
  • Junior to ( নিম্নপদস্থ ; বয়সে কম ) He is junior to me in service.
  • Long for ( কামনা করা ) He longed for fame.
  • Open to ( উন্মুক্ত ) His plan is open to objection.
  • Close to ( নিকটে ) The school is very close to our house.

Idioms:

  • At once finger ends ( নখদর্পণে ) All these facts are at his finger ends.
  • At large ( স্বাধীন ) The anti-socials are still at large.
  • Birds eye view ( মোটামোটি ধারণা ; এক নজর ) He took a bird’s eye view of the flood-stricken area from an aeroplane.
  • walk in someone shoes ( কারো অভিজ্ঞতা বা অবস্থানে থাকা বোঝায় ) When you walk in my shoes, you might understand.
