Appropriate Preposition:

  • Pity for ( করুণা ) Have pity for the poor.
  • Favourable to ( অনুকূল (ব্যক্তি) ) This situation is favourable to me for doing this.
  • Render into ( অনুবাদ করা ) Render the passage into Hindi.
  • Quarrel over ( কলহ করা (কোনকিছু) ) They quarreled with one another over the property.
  • Burst out ( ফেটে পড়া ) He burst out laughing at my joke.

Idioms:

  • throw dust in ones hands full ( কারো চোখে ধূলো দেওয়া )
  • Cut a sorry figure ( খারাপ ফল করা ) He cuts a sorry figure in the examination.
  • In force ( বলবৎ ) This law is in force now.
  • Slip of the tongue ( বলায় সামান্য ভুল ) This is a slip of the tongue, don't lay much stress on it.
  • loose cannon ( অপ্রত্যাশিত ) He is a bit of a loose cannon.
