Appropriate Preposition:

  • Disgusted at ( বিরক্ত ) I am disgusted with him at his conduct.
  • Pretend to ( ভান করা ) He does not pretend to high birth.
  • Dull at ( কাঁচা ) He is dull at Physics.
  • Abide by ( মেনে চলা ) One should abide by the rules
  • Sick of ( পীড়িত, ক্লান্ত ) He is sick for home.
  • Plead for ( ওকালতি করা (কোনকিছু) ) I pleaded with him for justice (against the wrong done to me).

Idioms:

  • Bad blood ( মনোমালিন্য ; শত্রতা ; দ্বেষ ) Now there is bad blood between the two brothers.
  • Bring to book ( শাস্তি দেওয়া ) He should be brought to book for his misconduct.
  • Sink in ( আবদ্ধ হওয়া, ডুবে যাওয়া ) He sank in mud or the ship sank into the sea.
  • Out of order ( বিকল ) This car is out of order.
  • Achilles heel ( দুর্বলতা বা ত্রুটি ) He is trying to hide but everybody knows his achilles' heel
  • To and fro ( এদিন-ওদিক ) Being unable to make up his mind the man is walking to and fro.
