Appropriate Preposition:

  • Kind to ( সদয় ) She is very kind to the children.
  • Jump at ( আগ্রহ সহকারে গ্রহণ করা ) Do not jump at the offer.
  • Satisfaction in ( সন্তোষ ) I find satisfaction in gardening. Great was his satisfaction with her result.
  • Proportionate to ( আনুপাতিক ) Punishment should be proportionate to offence.
  • Guess at ( অনুমান করা ) Can you guess at her age?
  • Remind of ( মনে করিয়ে দেওয়া (কোনকিছু) ) I reminded him of his promise.

Idioms:

  • By and large ( প্রধানতঃ ) People in our village are by and large farmers.
  • Stone's throw ( অতি নিকটে ) Our school is at a stone's throw form our house.
  • Three R's ( প্রাথমিক শিক্ষা ) The majority of our people have not yet learnt the three R's.
  • Come off with flying colours ( জয়লাভ করা ) Our School team came off with flying colours.
