Appropriate Preposition:

  • Eligible for ( যোগ্য ) He is eligible for the post.
  • Tide over ( অতিক্রম করা ) He will soon tide over the difficulty.
  • Useful for ( প্রয়োজনীয় (উদ্দেশ্য) ) This book is useful to us for examination.
  • Envious of ( ঈর্ষান্বিত ) I am not envious of his riches.
  • Partial to ( পক্ষপাত দুষ্ট ) He is partial to his son.
  • Tell upon ( ক্ষতি করা ) Over-eating tells upon health.

Idioms:

  • a rotten apple ( কোনো একটা দলের সব ভালোর মধ্যে খারাপ বা মন্দটা ) In any group of average citizens there are bound to be a few rotten apples.
  • ABC ( প্রাথমিক জ্ঞান ) Everybody must know at least the ABC of religion.
  • At once finger ends ( নখদর্পণে ) All these facts are at his finger ends.
