Appropriate Preposition:

  • Preferable to ( অধিক পছন্দযোগ্য ) Death is preferable to dishonor.
  • Engaged to ( বাগদত্ত ) Lila was engaged to him.
  • Crave for ( আকাঙ্খা করা ) He craves for wealth.
  • Differ from ( ভিন্নরূপ হওয়া ) This thing differs from that.
  • Oblige to ( বাধিত করা ) I am obliged to him for his co-operation.
  • Slow of ( ধীর ) He is slow of speech. He is slow at figures. He is slow in writing.

Idioms:

  • Achilles heel ( দুর্বলতা বা ত্রুটি ) He is trying to hide but everybody knows his achilles' heel
  • have ones eyes ( কারও হাতে বিস্তর কাজ থাকা )
  • At one’s wit’s end ( হতবুদ্ধি ) He was at his wit’s end and did not know what to do.
  • Three R's ( প্রাথমিক শিক্ষা ) The majority of our people have not yet learnt the three R's.
  • Of course ( অবশ্যই ) Of course, you know what that means
