Appropriate Preposition:

  • Invite to ( নিমন্ত্রণ করা ) I invited him to dinner.
  • Comment on ( মন্তব্য করা ) He commented favorably on the point.
  • Mourn over ( শোক করা ) Don't mourn over the dead.
  • Live beyond ( বাঁচা ) He lives beyond his means.
  • Subject to ( শর্তাধীন ) This is subject to approval of the committee.
  • Affection for ( স্নেহ ) The teacher feels affection for every pupils.

Idioms:

  • To and fro ( এদিন-ওদিক ) Being unable to make up his mind the man is walking to and fro.
  • Out of sorts ( ঈষৎ অসুস্থ ) He is out of sorts now.
  • Dead of night ( মধ্য রাত্রি ) The robbers broke into the house at dead of night.
  • Fight shy ( এড়িয়ে চলা ) Why do you fight shy of your teacher.
