Appropriate Preposition:

  • Provide against ( পূর্বে ব্যবস্থা করা ; সরবরাহ করা ) You must provide against evil days for your children.
  • Ashamed for ( লজ্জিত ) I feel ashamed for you.
  • Favourable for ( অনুকূল (কোনকিছু) ) This situation is favorable to me for doing this.
  • Inquire about ( অনুসন্ধান করা (কোন ব্যপার) ) I inquired of him about (into) the matter.
  • Certain of ( নিশ্চিত ) He is now certain of his ground.
  • Burst into ( ভেঙ্গে পড়া ) He burst into tears at the sad news

Idioms:

  • Fish in a troubled water ( এলোমোলো অবস্থায় সুযোগ নেওয়া ) He made a lot of money by fishing in a troubled water.
  • Fall flat ( ফলপ্রসূ না হওয়া ) My advice feel fiat on him.
  • Hard and fast ( বাঁধা ধরা ) There is no such hard and fast rule in this matter.
  • reinvent the wheel ( এমন কোনকিছু তৈরিতে সময় নষ্ট করা যা বর্তমানে বিদ্যমান ও ঠিকঠাক কাজ করে ) There's no point in us reinventing the wheel
  • In vain ( বৃথা ) All his attempts were in vain.
  • At once finger ends ( নখদর্পণে ) All these facts are at his finger ends.
