Scene & Scenery

Scene /noun/ (দৃশ্য / ঘটনাস্থল):

নাটক বা সিনেমার কোণ একটা নির্দিষ্ট অংশ অথবা একটা নির্দিষ্ট স্থান বোঝাতে  scene ব্যবহৃত হয়ে থাকে। এটি দিয়ে কোনো বাস্তব বা কাল্পনিক ঘটনার ঘটনাস্থলও বোঝানো হয়। এটি countable noun.

Scene means a part of a play, book, film etc in which a particular event takes place. It also means a place where something happens, usually something bad.

Example:

  • We have to shoot this scene today. (Scenery নয়)
  • The paramedics will be at the scene within a few minutes.
  • They were the first people on the scene after the incident.
  • The play's opening scene takes place in the courtyard.
  • The actor was nervous about his big scene.
  • Police are now at the scene.

 

Scenery /noun/ (নৈসর্গিক শোভা):

কোন অঞ্চলের প্রাকৃতিক পরিবেশের দৃশ্য (গাছ, পাহাড়, নদী ইত্যাদি) বোঝাতে scenery ব্যবহৃত হয়। এটি দিয়ে মঞ্চের পিছনের দৃশ্যসজ্জাকেও বোঝানো হয়। এটি uncountable noun. এটি বহুবচনে ব্যবহার হয় না।

Scenery means the appearance of a place. It normally refers to the natural things such as trees, hills, and lakes that one can see in a particular place. It also means the painted structures of a stage set that are intended to suggest a particular locale.

Example:

  • The scenery in Kashmir is so beautiful. (Scene নয়)
  • We passed through some of the country's most beautiful scenery and landscapes.
  • The last is the best of the three in terms of skiing and scenery.
  • Switzerland has some spectacular scenery.
  • Sometimes that texture serves as scenery for some pretty rich theater.
