E.G. হলো ল্যাটিন শব্দ, exempli gratia-এর সংক্ষিপ্ত রূপ। যার অর্থ হচ্ছে উদাহরণস্বরূপ বা যেমন।

E.G. is the abbreviation of the Latin word, exempli gratia which means for example.

Examples:

  • There were many types of flowers in the garden, e.g. rose, marigold, jasmine, tulip and so on.
  • I saw different kinds of birds in that place, e.g. sparrow, robin, nightingale, snipe, etc.
  • We ate various food items at the party, e.g. rice, chicken fry, mutton curry, beef sizzler, prawn balls, mixed vegetables, etc.
  • The students have classes on different subjects at the school, e.g. Bengali, English, Math, Science, Religion, History, Geography and so on.
  • This product is available in different colors, i.e. black, red, blue and green.

I.E. হলো ল্যাটিন শব্দ, id est-এর সংক্ষিপ্ত রূপ। যার অর্থ হচ্ছে অর্থাৎ।

I.E. is the abbreviation of the Latin word, id est which means that is.

Examples:

  • You are here for three more days, i.e. you are not leaving today. (তুমি এখানে আরো তিন দিন আছো অর্থাৎ তুমি আজ চলে যাচ্ছো না।)
  • The man solved this critical problem, i.e. he is very intelligent.
  • The student passed this difficult test, i.e. s/he is a brilliant student.
  • You can come on my off day, i.e. Friday.
  • You have no work on that day, i.e. you are coming to the picnic.
