Clear vs Clean

Clear /adjective/ (স্বচ্ছ; স্পষ্ট):

কোনো কিছু স্বচ্ছ বা স্পষ্ট বুঝাতে  Clear ব্যবহৃত হয়।

The word ‘clear’ means clean and uncluttered, without distractions or confusion.

Example:

  • The water of this pond is always clear. (Clean নয়)
  • I need clear and precise directions.
  • Her handwriting was clear.
  • Am I making myself clear?
  • There’s a full moon and the clear sky teems with stars.

 

Clean /adjective/ (পরিষ্কার):

কোনো কিছু পরিষ্কার করা বা রাখা বা থাকা বুঝাতে সাধারণত  Clean ব্যবহৃত হয়।

The word ‘clean’ means free from dirt / impurities or removing something unwanted.

Example:

  • A fashionable woman always keeps her clothes clean. (Clear নয়)
  • The room was spotlessly clean.
  • keep the wound clean.
  • There was dirt under the usually clean fingernails.
  • A progressive municipal government has made great advances in cleaning up the city.
