Cold vs Cool

Cold /adjective/ (হিম; শীতল):

Cold দিয়ে কষ্টদায়ক ঠান্ডা কে বোঝানো হয় সাধারণত।

Cold means a relatively low temperature; feeling an uncomfortable lack of warmth.

Example:

  • A winter morning is most often bitterly cold. (Cool নয়)
  • It’s a freezing cold day.
  • It’s cold outside.
  • A sharp, cold wind is a common feature of Scandinavian countries.
  • A storm had just moved through; the body was cold and wet.

 

Cool /adjective/ (ঈষৎ ঠাণ্ডা; শান্ত):

Cool মানে আরামদায়ক ঠান্ডা কে বোঝানো হয়েছে।

Cool means a fairly low temperature; neither warm nor very cold.

Example:

  • Air conditioner keeps temperaturecool in the room. (Cold নয়)
  • It’ll be a cool afternoon.
  • The wind kept them cool.
  • I'm perfectly cool, but open the window if you feel hot.
  • Remove from oven and let cool 10 minutes.
