Contradiction

Contradiction শব্দটি একটি noun.

Meaning as a noun:

বক্তব্যে একটি অস্বীকৃতি বা দৃষ্টিভঙ্গিতে একটি অসঙ্গতি।

A denial in speech or an inconsistency in a viewpoint.

Examples:

Paradox

Paradox শব্দটিও একটি noun.

Meaning as a noun:

যে কথা বা উক্তি আপাত দৃষ্টিতে সত্যবিরোধী কিন্তু আরও নিবিড়ভাবে পর্যবেক্ষণ করলে, বাস্তবিকভাবে  তা সত্য।

The word or statement which appears to be contradictory but which, when examined more closely, is practically true.

Examples:

  • James’ behavior is like a paradox; it seems he is indifferent, but actually he cares. (জেমসের ব্যবহারটা প্যারাডক্সের মতো; মনে হয় যে সে উদাসীন কিন্তু সে আসলে পরোয়া করে।)
  • It’s like a paradox; we visited so many places during our holiday, but now it seems that it was nothing.
  • It will sound like a paradox that the professor is so much learned, but still, he thinks he knows nothing.
  • Almost every girl’s behavior is like a paradox that she has so many dresses, but still, has nothing to wear when she is going to an event.
  • Sometimes drinking excess water can make you feel thirstier which is a strange paradox.
  • It’s a strange paradox that the richer people are thirstier for money than the poor ones.
