Bad vs Badly

Bad (খারাপ):

Bad বাক্যে adjective হিসেবে কাজ করে।   

‘Bad’ means ‘low or poor in quality’. It describes a quality of a noun.

Example:

  • This weather is bad for business. (Badly নয়)
  • The house is in bad condition.
  • He wrote letter in bad language.
  • He had a bad day at the office.
  • I was having a bad dream.

 

Badly (খারাপভাবে/অতিজরুরীভাবে):

Badly হলো adverb.

‘Badly’ means ‘urgently/poorly/desperately’.

Example:

  • Sabbir did badly in his exam. (Bad নয়)
  • I badly wanted to win.
  • He behaved badly.
  • I want it so badly.
  • "I felt badly for what he's gone through," I answered.
