Like vs Alike

Like (সদৃশ):

Like হলো preposition.

Like is a preposition. Like means similar or nearly the same.

Example:

  • Asif is like his father. (Alike নয়)
  • It's not like you to take offense.
  • Your house is like mine.
  • It looks like a bad year for farmers.
  • Like as not she'll change her mind.

 

Alike (সদৃশ):

Alike হলো adverb.

The definition of alike is having similarities.  

Example:

  • The two brother, Rakib and Sakib, look alike. (Like নয়)
  • They dress and walk alike.
  • We are all alike concerned in religion.
  • They looked a lot alike in some ways.
  • But you are alike in some ways.
