Aural vs Oral

Aural (শ্রবণেন্দ্রিয় সংক্রান্ত / কার্ণ):

শ্রবণ বা কর্ণ এর সাথে সম্পর্কিত বুঝাতে Aural ব্যবহৃত হয়।

The word ‘aural’ means of relating to the ear or the sense of hearing.

Example:

  • Improve your listening skill to do well in the aural test. (Oral নয়)
  • Seller was moving from an aural medium to a visual one.
  • Another option is a digital aural thermometer that measures the temperature in the ear.
  • Aural method is stronger than visual method in terms of blind people.
  • Film is a visual and aural medium; we have only our eyes and ears with which to apprehend it.

 

Oral (মৌখিক / বাচনিক):

মুখে কথা বলা সম্পর্কিত বুঝাতে Oral ব্যবহৃত হয়।

The word ‘oral’ means having to do with the mouth or speaking.

Example:

  • Oral test is needed to justify the speaking skill of the learners. (Aural নয়)
  • They had reached an oral agreement.
  • They rely on oral interviews rather than written ones.
  • Folk literature is mainly based on the oral tradition.
  • The appeals court has scheduled oral arguments in the case for January.
