Appropriate Preposition:

  • Make out ( বুঝতে পারা ) I cannot make out what you say.
  • Faith with ( বিশ্বাস (ভঙ্গ) ) He broke faith with me.
  • Dull at ( কাঁচা ) He is dull at Physics.
  • Divide into ( বিভক্ত করা (অংশ) ) It was divided into several parts.
  • Senior to ( বয়সে বড়, উচ্চপদস্থ ) He is senior to me by four years.
  • Opposite to ( বিপরীত ) Your idea is opposite to mine.

Idioms:

  • have a bad time ( দুশ্চিন্তায় কাল কাটানো ; দুঃসময়ে পড়া )
  • a rotten apple ( কোনো একটা দলের সব ভালোর মধ্যে খারাপ বা মন্দটা ) In any group of average citizens there are bound to be a few rotten apples.
  • Out of the wood ( বিপদমুক্ত ) He is not yet out of the wood.
  • Out of order ( বিকল ) This car is out of order.
  • Burning question ( তীব্র বিতর্কের বিষয় ) The problem of the dowry system is the burning question of the day.
  • Make both ends meet ( আয়ব্যয় মেলানো ) I cannot make both ends meet with my small income.
