Appropriate Preposition:

  • Engaged in ( নিযুক্ত (কাজে) ) I was engaged with him in talk.
  • Fond of ( অনুরাগী ) Children are fond of sweets.
  • Look over ( পরীক্ষা করা ) He is looking over the answer papers.
  • Open at ( উন্মুক্ত করা বা খোলা ) Open at page 20 of English book.
  • Made of ( তৈরি ) This ring is made of gold.
  • Jump to ( তাড়াহুড়ো করে সিদ্ধান্তে আসা ) Do not jump to a conclusion without much thinking.

Idioms:

  • a rotten apple ( কোনো একটা দলের সব ভালোর মধ্যে খারাপ বা মন্দটা ) In any group of average citizens there are bound to be a few rotten apples.
  • hold your horses ( সবুর করা ; ধৈর্য ধরা ) Hold your horses in trouble, you will get your reward.
  • Make both ends meet ( আয়ব্যয় মেলানো ) I cannot make both ends meet with my small income.
