Plague হলো একটি মারাত্মক সংক্রামক রোগ যা সাধারণত ব্যাকটিরিয়া দ্বারা সৃষ্ট। এটি প্রাণী (যেমন ইঁদুর) থেকে মানুষের মধ্যে ছড়ায় যা মারাত্মক মহামারী সৃষ্টি করতে পারে। উদাহরণস্বরূপ Black Death হলো ইতিহাসের একটি মারাত্মক Plague মহামারীর নাম।
কোনো রোগ দ্বারা একটি নির্দিষ্ট অঞ্চলে একই সাথে বহু লোক সংক্রমিত হলে তখন তাকে epidemic বা মহামারী বলে। যেমন plague একটি মহামারী রোগ।

Plague হলো একটি সংক্রামক রোগ যা ইয়ার্সিনিয়া পেস্টিস ব্যাকটিরিয়ার কারণে সংক্রমিত হয়, সাধারণত ছোট স্তন্যপায়ী প্রাণী এবং তাদের গায়ের বোঁড়ায় বা উকুনে হয়। এই রোগটি প্রাণীদের মধ্যে সংক্রামিত হয় তাদের বোঁড়া বা উকূনের মাধ্যমে এবং এটি একটি জুনোটিক ব্যাকটিরিউমা হওয়ায় এটি প্রাণী থেকে মানুষের মধ্যেও সংক্রমিত হতে পারে।

Epidemic [noun, adjective] (মহামারী; মহামারী সংক্রান্ত):
একটি epidemic রোগ একই সাথে বহু লোককে সংক্রমিত করে এবং এমন এক অঞ্চলে এক ব্যক্তি থেকে অন্য ব্যক্তিতে ছড়িয়ে পড়ে যেখানে এই রোগটি অস্থায়ীভাবে বিরাজমান থাকে।
The word epidemic is used to refer to a disease that affects many people at a time and spreads throughout the people in a region where that disease is temporarily prevalent.
Examples:
- According to the World Health Organization’s specification, an epidemic occurs at the community or regional level.
- The district successfully stopped the measles epidemic on time.
- Pandemics are epidemics spreading over a huge area i.e. throughout the whole country, continent, or the entire world.
- The city stopped the swine flu epidemic on time by taking effective measures.
- Cholera broke out at the village as an epidemic.
