Bail
Bail, শব্দটি noun এবং verb হিসেবেও ব্যবহৃত হতে পারে।
Meaning as a noun:
1. The money which a person charged with a crime, pays to a law court to make him/herself released until his\her trial.
কোন অপরাধে অভিযুক্ত ব্যক্তি নিজেকে তার বিচারকার্য শেষ না হওয়া পর্যন্ত মুক্ত রাখতে যে অর্থ আদালতে পরিশোধ করে । জামিন।
Examples:
- The political leader was released on bail of Tk. 50,000. (রাজনৈতিক নেতাটি ৫০,০০০ টাকা জামিনে মুক্তি পেলেন।)
- The criminal’s bail was refused by the judge on some legal grounds.
2. Any of the two small crosspieces of wood placed on the top of the stumps in the game of cricket.
ক্রিকেট খেলায় স্টাম্পের ওপরে রাখা দু’টি ছোট কাঠের টুকরোর যেকোন একটি।
Examples:
- The wicket-keeper knock the bails off with the ball as the batsman delayed to reach the wicket area. (ব্যাটস্ম্যান উইকেট এলাকায় ফিরতে দেরী করায় উইকেট-রক্ষক বলের আঘাতে বেইল ফেলে দিলেন।)
- The bails had been knocked off before the batsman reached.
Meaning as a verb:
1. Removing water using a container from a boat.
কোন পাত্র ব্যবহার করে নৌকা থেকে পানি বাইরে বের করা।
Example:
- The boatman was bailing quickly because the boat was sinking. (মাঝি তাড়াতাড়ি নৌকা থেকে পানি বাইরে বের করে দিচ্ছিলো কারণ নৌকাটা ডুবে যাচ্ছিলো।)
2. A person charged with a crime is bailed or released until her/his trial if s/he pays the bail to the court.
একজন অপরাধে অভিযুক্ত ব্যক্তি তার বিচারকার্য শেষ হওয়া না পর্যন্ত জামিনে মুক্ত হয় যদি সে আদালতে জামিন বাবদ নির্দিষ্ট অর্থ পরিশোধ করে।
Example:
- The political leader was bailed yesterday for five months. (রাজনৈতিক নেতাটি গতকাল পাঁচ মাসের জামিন পেয়েছেন।)
Bale
Bale, এই শব্দটিও noun এবং verb হিসেবেও ব্যবহৃত হতে পারে।
Meaning as a noun:
A bundle of something such as paper or wool or cotton etc.
কোনকিছুর আঁটি বা গোছা বা গাঁট যেমন: কাগজ বা পশম বা তূলা প্রভৃতি।
Example:
- The tailor was carrying a bale of cotton. (দর্জিটি একটি তূলার গোছা বয়ে নিয়ে যাচ্ছিলো।)
Meaning as a verb:
1. Removing water, using a container, from a boat.
কোন পাত্র ব্যবহার করে নৌকা থেকে পানি বাইরে বের করা।
Example:
- The boatman was busy in baling as the boat was sinking. (মাঝিটি নৌকা থেকে পানি বাইরে বের করে দেয়ায় ব্যস্ত ছিলো কারণ নৌকাটি ডুবে যাচ্ছিলো।)
2. Tying up something in a bundle.
কোনকিছুকে আঁটি বা বা গোছা বা গাঁট করে বাঁধা।
Example:
- The weaver was baling the cotton all day. (তাঁতীটি সারাদিন ধরে তূলা গাঁট করে বাঁধছিলো।)
