The words a, an and the are usually called Articles.
An article is a word that helps us to customize a noun which is a person, place, idea or object. OR we can also say technically, an article is an adjective that customizes a noun by point out or refer.
A, an এবং the শব্দগুলোকে Article বলা হয়।
For example- a dog, an apple, the Statue of Liberty.

- আমি একটি এক টাকার নোট চাই – I want a one taka note.
- সে একজন এক চোখ বিশিষ্ট লোক – He is a one eyed man.
- আমি একটি ছাতা কিনেছি – I have bought an umbrella.
- সে একজন বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের ছাত্র – He is a University student.
- আমাদের প্রধান শিক্ষক একজন সৎ লোক – Our Headmaster is an honest man.
- তিনি একটি ইউরোপিয়ন হোটেল এ থাকেন – He lives in a European hotel.
- আমার বড় ভাই একজন এম, এ – My elder brother is an M.A.
- আমার ছোট ভাই একজন বি, এ – My younger brother is a B.A.
- ফজলুল হক বাংলাদেশের নেপোলিয়ন ছিলেন – The Fazlul haq Nepoleon of Bangladesh.
- মনে হয় তুমি একজন নজরুল – I see you are a Nazrul.
- কক্সবাজার বাংলাদেশের সুইজারল্যান্ড – Cox’s Bazar is the Switzerland of Bangladesh.
- পাঞ্জাবকে পঞ্চনদীর দেশ বলা হয় – The Panjab is called the land of five rivers.
- আমি প্রত্যহ কোরআন পড়ি – I read the Quran daily.
- ইত্তেফাক পত্রিকা ঢাকা থেকে প্রকাশিত হয় – The Ittefaq is published from Dhaka.
- মেঘনা নদী বঙ্গোপসাগরে পতিত হয় – The Meghna river falls into the Bay of Bengal.
- আমি ভীষণ বিপদে আছি – I am in a great danger.
- এভারেস্ট পৃথিবীর সর্বোচ্চ পর্বতশৃঙ্গ – The Mt. Everest is the highest mountain peak in the world.
- ধনীরা সব সময় সুখী নয় – The rich are not always happy.
- গরীবরা দিন আনে দিন খায় – The poor live from hand to mouth.
- সৌভাগ্য বীরদেরকে অনুগ্রহ করে – Fortune favor’s the brave.
N.B: Adjective –এর পুর্বে The বসলে plural অর্থে ব্যবহার করা হয়।
