Tax বা কর কাকে বলে?

সরকারের আওতার ভেতরে প্রতিষ্ঠান এবং ব্যক্তির পক্ষ থেকে সরকারী কার্যাবলীর সহায়তার জন্য সরকারকে প্রদেয় নির্দিষ্ট পরিমাণ অর্থকে কর বা Tax বলে।

যখন একজন ব্যক্তি বা প্রতিষ্ঠানের উপর কর প্রয়োগ করা হয়, তাদেরকে তাদের আয় বা মুনাফার একটি অংশ সরকারকে প্রদান করতে হয়। পণ্যের ওপর কর প্রয়োগ করা হলে এগুলোর মূল্যের একটি অংশ সরকারকে প্রদান করতে হয়।
