যখন একটি জনগোষ্ঠীর বেশির ভাগ একটি সংক্রামক রোগ থেকে প্রতিরোধী থাকে, তখন এটা যারা এই রোগ থেকে অনাক্রম্য নয় তাদেরকে পরোক্ষ সুরক্ষা দেয় যাকে Herd Immunity বা হার্ড অনাক্রম্যতা বা হার্ড সুরক্ষাও বলা হয়।
