Borrow & Lend

Borrow /verb/ (ধার করা):

ধার করা বোঝাতে borrow ব্যবহৃত হয়।

Borrow means to take something from someone with the intention of returning it after a period of time.

Example:

  • I will borrow a book from our teacher. (Lend নয়)
  • The twins often borrow each other's clothes.
  • I'm borrowing a friend's car for the weekend.
  • Will you see if we can borrow a cup of sugar from the neighbors?
  • She borrowed $20 from me.

 

Lend /verb/ (ধার দেয়া):

ধার দেয়া বোঝাতে Lend ব্যবহৃত হয়।

Lend means to give something to someone to be used for a period of time and then returned in the future.

Example:

  • My friend has lend a book to me. (Borrow নয়)
  • The bank wouldn't lend us the money.
  • Would you lend me your pen?
  • Many banks won't lend to people with bad credit.
