After vs Afterwards

After (পরে):

After হচ্ছে preposition যার পরে object বসে।

The definition of after is a time that is later than some other time.

 Example:

  • We had a few beers after the game.
  • The time is quarter after eight.
  • The Cold War began shortly after WWII.
  • The princess is next in line to the throne after the prince.

Afterwards (পরে):

Afterwards হচ্ছে adverb যার পরে কোনো object বসে না।

Afterwards means at a later or succeeding time.

Example:

  • Let’s go out now and eat afterwards. (After নয়)
  • Afterwards, go find the manager and apply some pressure.
  • He held her afterwards until she drifted into a doze.
  • He found out about it long afterward.
