Appropriate Preposition:

  • Need for ( প্রয়োজনীয় ) I have no need for more money.
  • Warn of ( সতর্ক করা ) He warned me of the danger.
  • Long for ( কামনা করা ) He longed for fame.
  • Accustomed to ( অভ্যস্ত ) I am accustomed to such a life.
  • Deaf of ( বধির ) He is deaf of one ear.
  • Lay by ( সঞ্চয় করা ) Lay by something for the old age.

Idioms:

  • a bad apple ( কোনো একটা দলের সব ভালোর মধ্যে খারাপ বা মন্দটা ) In any group of average citizens there are bound to be a few bad apples.
  • As usual ( যথারীতি ) He is late as usual.
  • Hard nut to crack ( কঠিন সমস্যা ) The problem of adult education is really a hard nut to crack.
  • To the contrary ( কাহারও বক্তব্যের বিপক্ষে ) In the court he said nothing to the contrary.
  • Hue and cry ( শোরগোল ) The villagers raised a hue and cry to see the thief.
  • Three R's ( প্রাথমিক শিক্ষা ) The majority of our people have not yet learnt the three R's.
