Appropriate Preposition:

  • Overcome with ( দমন করা ) He was overcome with fatigue.
  • According to ( অনুসারে ) According to his order i went there.
  • Look for ( খোঁজা ) I am looking for a good job.
  • Inquire about ( অনুসন্ধান করা (কোন ব্যপার) ) I inquired of him about (into) the matter.
  • Escape by ( রক্ষা করা ) He escaped by a hair breadth.
  • Pretend to ( ভান করা ) He does not pretend to high birth.

Idioms:

  • On the spur of the moment ( মুহুর্তের উত্তেজনায় ) He did it on the spur of the moment.
  • Fall flat ( ফলপ্রসূ না হওয়া ) My advice feel fiat on him.
  • On the contrary ( বিপরীত পক্ষে ) I do not hate him: on the contrary I love him.
  • a bad apple ( কোনো একটা দলের সব ভালোর মধ্যে খারাপ বা মন্দটা ) In any group of average citizens there are bound to be a few bad apples.
