Appropriate Preposition:

  • Remedy for ( প্রতিকার ) There is no remedy for this disease.
  • Equal to ( সমতুল্য (কাজ) ) He rose equal to the occasion.
  • Contribute to ( দান হিসাবে দেওয়া ) He contributed one thousand taka to the Flood Relief Fund.
  • Commence on ( শুরু করা ) Our examination commences on the 3rd July.
  • Preferable to ( অধিক পছন্দযোগ্য ) Death is preferable to dishonor.
  • Consistent with ( সামঞ্জস্যপূর্ণ ) Your action is not consistent with the rules.

Idioms:

  • bell the cat ( সর্তকতার জন্য বিড়ালের গলায় ঘন্টা বাধা ; কোন কাজ যেটা অর্জন করা কঠিন বা অসম্ভব ) Everybody is trying but who actually bell the cat?
  • At a stretch ( একটানা ) He can run ten miles at a stretch.
