Appropriate Preposition:

  • Complain against ( অভিযোগ করা (অন্য ব্যক্তি) ) The complained to the Director against the Manager about her behavior.
  • Offend against ( লঙ্গন করা ) You have offended against good manners.
  • Aloof from ( দূরে থাকা ) Keep yourself aloof from bad company.
  • Open to ( উন্মুক্ত ) His plan is open to objection.
  • Affectionate to ( স্নেহশীল ) He is affectionate to me.
  • Prompt at ( চটপটে (ব্যক্তিত্ব) ) He is prompt at figures.

Idioms:

  • Hold good ( প্রযুক্ত হওয়া ) This ruls will not hold good here.
  • ABC ( প্রাথমিক জ্ঞান ) Everybody must know at least the ABC of religion.
  • Birds eye view ( মোটামোটি ধারণা ; এক নজর ) He took a bird’s eye view of the flood-stricken area from an aeroplane.
  • At a loss ( হতবু্দ্ধি ; কিংকর্তব্যবিমূঢ় ) He was at a loss and did not know what to do.
